Brian Rougeau

Biography

Brian Rougeau is a multidisciplinary artist based in Canada. For over 25 years, he worked extensively in the film and television industry, primarily as a director of photography, helping others bring their creative visions to life. His cinematography on The Nature of Nicholas (dir. Jeffery Erbach), his third feature film, earned him Best Cinematography awards at both the 2003 Manitoba Blizzard Awards and the prestigious Mar del Plata International Film Festival in Argentina.

After a fulfilling career behind the camera, Brian has shifted his focus to sharing how he sees and interprets the world through various creative mediums. His current creative work spans writing, illustration, media-arts, audio storytelling and music. Whether composing contemplative poetry, crafting visual pieces, or creating under his musical moniker Sonōsus, Brian’s work explores themes of memory, transformation, and human connection with an acutely personal and philosophical perspective.
