Brian Rougeau is a multidisciplinary artist based in Canada. For over 25 years, he worked extensively in the film and television industry, primarily as a director of photography, helping others bring their creative visions to life. His cinematography on The Nature of Nicholas (dir. Jeffery Erbach), his third feature film, earned him Best Cinematography awards at both the 2003 Manitoba Blizzard Awards and the Mar del Plata International Film Festival in Argentina.

After a fulfilling career behind the camera, Brian has shifted his focus to sharing his perspective through various creative mediums. His current creative work spans writing, illustration, media arts, audio storytelling, and music. Whether composing contemplative poetry, crafting visual pieces, or creating under his musical moniker Sonōsus, Brian’s work explores themes of memory, transformation, and human connection. His body of work spans many years and includes periods of self-reflection and self-inquiry as well as outward-looking exploration. Much of this work is reflective in nature, shaped by experiences over time, and grounded in a sense of perspective and integration.
